Topping the charts for May was Gippsland Dairy’s “Let the World Wait”. The ad transformed a simple insight of taking a moment for yourself and elevated it into a mesmerizing storyline, sending viewers on a rollicking ride.
The ad achieved a Branded Memorability Score of 7.5 out of 10 (placing it in the top ~5% of all ads in Australia), demonstrating exceptional potential to drive long-term brand growth.
By rejecting category clichés and embracing the unexpected, the ad successfully broke through the clutter. Moments of calm indulgence contrasted perfectly with fast-paced, chaotic scenes, heightened by the driving rock soundtrack. This created an emotional tension that kept viewers engaged right through to the end.
Crucially, despite the surreal settings and chaotic energy, people never lost sight of who the ad was for. By rooting the central idea in Gippsland Dairy’s core positioning of being an indulgent, slowly crafted yogurt, the brand remained at the heart of the story.
Overall, “Let the World Wait” reinforces a core principle of effective advertising: emotion and storytelling drive stronger impact than oppressive voiceovers and feature-heavy messaging. When paired with the right soundtrack and a clear brand role, this approach can deliver just as many commercial effects in the short-term as in the long-term.
